MISSION VIEJO, CA - Finally an issue that both parties can agree on. On April 27th 2006, Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) introduced a resolution supporting Life Insurance Awareness Month. Senate Resolution 448 seeks to designate September as Life Insurance Awareness Month. This September will mark the fourth anniversary, previously honored in 18 states and the District of Columbia. In addition to receiving formal recognition by the Congress annually, more than half of the nation's governors and President Bush have signed proclamations or sent supportive letters on behalf of life insurance awareness.

Why life insurance awareness? Life insurance is a foundation of financial security for our nation's families. Nearly 70 million Americans lack life insurance coverage, and these proclamations, resolutions and the like help to focus attention on the issue. Two industry groups, LIFE (The Life and Health Insurance Foundation) and NAIFA (the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors) have been at the forefront of this program. It is an industry-wide initiative to help raise public awareness about the importance of life insurance and to encourage consumers to evaluate their own life insurance policies.

"People often purchase their life insurance policies and believe their coverage will be sufficient regardless of the life changes they go through." Said Spectrum Direct CEO Christopher Snyder, "Having a Life Insurance Awareness Month with support from Federal and State governments is a good way to remind those who don't currently own insurance that they are missing an important part of their financial strategy. " And those people who have already purchased life insurance should review their coverage in light of their current situation. "When our State and Federal Governments support a special resolution for like Life Insurance Awareness Month they are basically telling their constituents how important it is for them to assume financial responsibility and that buying life insurance is a key step towards the goal of having financial security for your family," added Snyder.

What stops people from purchasing life insurance? Often it is too complicated or takes too long to secure needed coverage. 99% of all life insurance policies require that the buyer meet with an agent at least once and take a medical exam. Many prospective buyers are looking for an easier way to purchase their needed coverage, which is something Mr. Snyder can help them with. "We found a large portion of the uninsured population really wants to get coverage, but they don't want to meet with an agent or take a medical exam. With that in mind we offer immediate term life coverage online with no agent and no medical exam, just a few health questions."

Spectrum Direct developed the eLifePolicy website offering "no medical", just a few health questions and "no agent" term life insurance that allows the insurance shopper to apply, get approved and print out their in-force term life insurance policy in minutes. So heed the advice of your Senators, Governors and President – if you don't have any life insurance, you're not protecting your family's financial future. This website will help to ensure their stability. If you already have life insurance, remember to review it annually to be sure your coverage really fits your current needs.
